Hi everyone,

quick question is there a way to save all of your guide images? For instance, if I created a path to a folder, could I save all of the images the guide camera would take that evening for later analysis?

Thanks,

David

Hi Dave.  You can accomplish this with the latest release using the diagnostic image logging feature on the ‘Global’ tab of the Advanced Dialog:

You could choose a very large image count or set one of the error thresholds to some very low value.  The images will be placed in the PHD2 logging directory but in their own sub-folder.  The images will be saved in a FITs format.

Good luck,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the quick reply. I am using version 2.6.3 but I don't see that option anywhere? Is there something more current than 2.6.3?

Thanks,

David

Hi Andy,

Is it possible to be able to name the saved images? For instance, if I am observing arcturus and I want the file name to be arcturus07012017. Is that possible?

Thanks,

David

David,

That is not currently possible.  I'm guessing this is related to your other question about the dual cameras for the FAU? I'll send you an email and we can take the discussion off-line.

Andy
