We have little or no experience with people trying to use a DSLR with PHD2. I don’t know how this ASCOM-DSLR driver works but I wonder if it doesn’t, itself, need a bunch of properties specified to identify what DSLR it’s trying to use. Have you looked closely at the setup/properties dialog in that driver to see what’s required? Things like the pixel and sensor size are fundamental pieces of information that are needed to operate the camera which is why the connection is failing.
