Guiding for an Equatorial Platform

Have used PHD2 guiding with my EQ6 equatorial mount for years, works great.

Just got myself a dual-axis equatorial platform, made by Tom Osypowski, to use with my 16" Dobsonian.

The control unit of the eq platform has an ST-4 input for guiding.

I am using Orion Starshoot autoguider, and that camera choice is shown in PHD2.  This camera has an ST-4 output, so I can connect the camera to the eq platform control unit ST-4 port.

But my question:
Equatorial platform is not a mount choice in PHD2, so how to connect to the eq platform mount?

Thanks,

JonS

JonS,

When you guide a mount through the guide camera's ST-4 port, the mount selection in PHD2 would be "On-camera".  PHD2 sends a guide pulse command to the camera and the camera activates the corresponding ST-4 signal which is then recognized by the mount electronics.

PHD2 user guide: Equipment Connection (scroll down to Mount Selection)

Thanks Andy,

I see the On Camera choice for mount in PHD2.

How about adding an Aux Mount - I could use EQMOD ASCOM HEQ5/6 (which is what I use for my Orion EQ6 mount) so the guide signal is properly interpreted by the eq platform?

I'm not sure what you are getting at there. When you use the equatorial platform with the dob, where is the EQ6 in the picture?
