Guiding in NINA Sequence with a Paramount - pulse guiding, direct guiding or both?

Trying to sort out a conflict between online papers. One says select 'Direct Guiding' the other says 'Pulse Guiding'. I found another reference that says to select both - any suggestions on how to break the tie other than testing all three options? Thank you, Gary
