I've discovered a problem that I can't explain.  I recently switched to the PPEC algorithm for my RA.  I plugged in my mount's period length of 230s (Paramount MX+).  I also checked the box to auto adjust the period.  The next morning I checked the log and the algorithm had auto-adjusted to 1230s.  I believe the purpose of this entry field is to track the mount's PE, so I switched it back to 230.00s and unchecked the auto adjust box.  I guided again last night and even though the GUI says the period is 230.00s the log says it was 1230s.  Going back to the GUI I verified it's still set to 230.00s.  There is no leading 1 in this field, only 230.00.  So help my understand this discrepency.  Did I do something wrong, or could this be a bug?

Thanks
Keith

Hi Keith.  When you first started operations on July 10, the period length was set to 1230 and auto-adjust was set to false and I can't find anyplace in the log where you changed it.  So you were stuck with the results from some previous guiding session. We know that this feature works correctly, many of us disable auto-adjust once we can see what frequency/period we want to address.  I think you should try it again, being sure you click on the 'Ok' button in the Advanced Settings dialog after you've gotten the settings the way you want them.

Regards,
Bruce

Bruce,

That’s the discrepancy.  It clearly shows 230 s in PHD with auto adjust unchecked.  But in the log it shows 1230s.  It operated like this for two consecutive nights 230s in PHD and 1230s in the nightly log.  Very strange.

Anyway, I’ve created a new profile and it appears to be working properly.

Thank you for your help.

Keith
