Hi Craig. I’m still not clear on what you’re seeing. You said “I can connect the Gemini to my computer but not to PHD2.” I assume you can’t connect to it with any software, right? If the ASCOM mount driver doesn’t appear in the PHD2 list, it generally means it isn’t installed and registered correctly on the computer. You can navigate to Program Files(x86)\Common Files\ASCOM\Telescope\ and find a program there called POTH.exe. Run that app, click on the ‘Setup’ button, then the ‘Choose Scope’ button, then use the pull-down menu to look for your scope. Is it there? If not, the driver hasn’t been installed correctly. If it is in the list, select it, then try connecting to the mount. At this point, you’re using only ASCOM software, all very basic.
Not to offend you by stating the obvious, but can we assume you went to the mount driver download page on the ASCOM web site and downloaded the separate Gemini Telescope .NET driver? The actual mount drivers are always separate from the ASCOM platform itself, there are really two installers that need to be run.
If you can’t figure this out, we’ll need to see the PHD2 debug log file and a log from the ASCOM diagnostics tool. Let us know and we’ll help you get that stuff and then see if we can get you going.
Good luck,
Bruce

I’m guessing missing Gemini telescope driver as well
You can download latest here: http://ascom-standards.org/Downloads/ScopeDrivers.htm
When you get to “mount” in the new profile wizard it should list “Gemini Telescope.NET (ASCOM)” if installed properly
Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me on this.
I checked the POTH.exe, ran it but, while it shows Gemini.net it won't connect under the "Properties" window. Now that I know what to look for I'll do some fiddling and get back to you. Oddly, I can connect using the Gemini software.
Back to you soon,
Craig

Hi Craig. This does tell you something though. When you click on the ‘Properties’ button, all that’s supposed to happen is that the ASCOM setup dialog in the driver should appear. Nothing is trying to talk to the mount at that point, there is no connection being attempted. That’s a strong indication that the ASCOM driver installation didn’t work correctly. I presume you can connect to the mount with the proprietary Gemini software because it isn’t ASCOM-based. You can probably get some help on the ASCOM-Talk forum if you can’t resolve the problem yourself. Since you’re using POTH as a test tool, it’s a very simple test scenario, no other applications like PHD2 are involved.
Glad to hear you’re back in business, Craig – thanks for reporting back.
Have fun!
Bruce
