Change guide speed?

I have have a lot of experience with PHD2 but just started using PHD2 with NINA and a ZWO AM5 mount - so far a great combination.  (I'm NOT using ZWO's ASIAIR product.)

My PHD2 profile  specifies guide speed = 1.0, but PHD2 and NINA both report guide speed = 0.5 x sidereal.  I have read that PHD2 does not control the guide speed anyway.  With my old mount I could change  it with the hand controller.  My new ZWO AM5 has a very limited hand controller and very limited mount control app - no mention of guide speed anywhere. It would make sense for NINA to allow one to change guide speed, but I can't find such a feature anywhere.  So, 2 questions:

1- Am I correct that PHD2 is NOT able to change the mount's guide speed - it just reports it?

2- Can any one tell me how it is done with NINA or the ASI Mount app (or maybe some other ASI program)?

you are correct, you can't change the guide speed in PHD

Not me. However you should be able to achieve good guiding at 0.5x guidespeed

It's in the advanced section of the ASCOM driver that pops up when you connect via NINA

I'm not sure what you are referring to.  The only thing that pops up when NINA starts up (well when NINA starts PHD2, I guess) is the "ASCOM Server" which I attached a screen capture of.  It does not have an "advanced" section.  (This image was without the telescope connected, but it looks the same after you click "connect".)

As Brian said, this probably isn’t worth worrying about if you can’t find the option. That said, your screen-shot does show an ‘Advanced’ check-box which may be enabled once you connect to the mount.  If you use the PHD2 2.6.11dev6 release, the Calibration Assistant will react to whatever guide speed the mount is reporting.

On the AM5, click advanced.  Guide speed setting is towards the bottom.  0.1 to 0.9.  Default is 0.5.  CHECK IT EVERY TIME YOU START A SESSION.  Sometimes it will keep the different setting from session to session and sometimes it will revert to 0.5.  I usually start the AM5 first, make my settings then open all the other apps that connect to it.  Seems to work.  YMMV.

Geeze, well if that's the case it sounds to me like leaving it at 0.5 is the safest option

Thanks. I suspect changing it from 0.5 to 0.9 or 1.0 won't make much difference, but I want to try it and see what happens.
