ASI220 Mini Darks

Last night I made darks of my new ASI220 Mini.

When I connect and start looping, the star field has numerous bright spots which like a dark frame. I cannot detect any stars.

I am obviously doing something wrong, but I thought I correctly followed instructions to build the dark.

(The ASI220 Mini is reported as bit depth of 12. The dark requires that I select 8 or 16, so I selected 16.)

After some more study, it seems that the red and white dots may be noise. When I click on "Show bad pixel map", I get a few more distinct red dots.

When I move the balance slider to the right, I decrease the appearance.

Still, this is something new that I don't really uderstand.

what happens when you enable/disable darks, does it show stars when it's disabled?

I am pleased to say that the new camera works great with PhD2 tonight. It has none of the behaviors I described earlier. I assume that I had some type of flaky settings with gain and/or gamma and perhaps poor focus.

It is far superior to the Orion I replaced. 

However, I had very poor results with guiding, and I will forward my log for helpful comments.
