Configure drivers ascom meade

Hi, I have been advised to use these drivers https: //bitbucket.or...p.1.0.0.296.msi, for the phd2 orientation of my lx200gps, but I don't know how to configure it, do you use those drivers, and can you help me  ?  Thanks.

Hello Julian, the first step is to install the ASCOM Platform version 5.55P1 from here https://ascom-standards.org/index.htm

Next, download the LX200GPS driver listed on this page. https://ascom-standards.org/Downloads/ScopeDrivers.htm

Scroll down the page to the driver called 'Meade LX200GPS and LX200R (combined telescope/focuser, 5.0.0, Jan 2008)'

The mount must then be connected to your computer. I think the LX200GPS accepts pulse guiding so you may only require an RS232-USB adapter cable. I'm not familiar with the GPS model so others will no doubt give more details..

When the ASCOM LX200GPS driver is installed, it will appear in the PHD2 Profile Wizard under the Mount selector.

The driver Julian wants to use is a 2019 update of all existing drivers, it fixes bugs in those earlier versions, and is available from ASCOM in the Drivers section.

ASCOM recommend to use this one for LX200 Classic, LX200GPS, ETX, LS etc.

Seeing this window probably means that he has a good connection to the mount.

He's using a newer release than the one I'm using, I don't think mine has this interface, but I'll take a stab at  the settings.

COM Port:   Enter the COM Port number the RS232 cable is using in Windows Device Manager

Guide Rate:  Shows the rate selected in the mount. 

Precision:   See page 30 of the Meade Manual ?

Guiding Style: I'd guess Auto, North only, South only, and Off are available, like the PHD2 settings ?

Focuser Backlash steps:  a setting like Dec Backlash - but for the focuser reversing direction ?

Reverse direction: Reverses the focuser movement direction of the buttons ?

Dynamic Breaking (Braking?): smooths the focuser movement ?

Colin Dawson the driver author would know better than me !
