SVBONY SV105 as guidecamera in PHD2?

Hi

I am considering getting a SVBONY SV105 to use as guidecamera in PHD2 on a Windows pc, but wonder if it works? 

It is a very general question, I know, but I just want to be sure that PHD2 will be able to use this camera.

svbony has an ascom driver so yes it should work.

(you need both ascom and the camera driver installed)

whether it performs well or not, i can't say

I think the SV105 behaves a bit like a webcam; No driver needed. I think that will not be the best choice for use with PHD2. The ASCOM drivers seem to supports SV305 and above only, but better check with SVBONY.

Ok, thanks. 

Well, there is also an ASCOM driver for my old QHY5-camera, but since some Windows-upgrade, PHD2 will no longer connect to the camera. 
So I gave up trying, and am now looking for a more modern replacement of the QHY5, but lowcost.

I did some poking around, it's not an ideal camera for guiding, seems better for entry-level planetary

Here's one example:

So yes, I still think it will "work", but again, not an ideal camera for guiding

Well, I am not looking for the best or ideal solution, but a functional low-cost one in which the cam will run on Windows 7 or 10 and PHD2 can connect to it (as webcam or whatever) & actually use it for guiding (stacking or no stacking). in the past I used Philips webcams or modified cams that used the Sony ccds in Philips' webcams. PHD2 had no problem connecting to those (prior to Windows 10). Their pixels were big, the field was narrow, and max.exposure much less than half a second which many seem to see as a problem for SV105. But PHD2 was able to stack the images, and guide nonetheless - on images from webcams. 
However, It became a hassle to get the old webcams to work in Windows 10, so I don't use them anymore. Anyhow, their fields were also small indeed.

The crucial question - for me - is whether the SV105 is less sensitive than the old Philips webcams? It seems unlikely given the development in the past 20 yrs.

- I suppose I am looking for answers based on hands-on experience with SV105, guiding and PHD2?

I've tried it. SV105 doesn't work well, at all with PHD2.
