I'm moving to using the Advanced Sequencer in NINA and it doesn't look like there is a way to automate use of the PHD2 Guiding Assistant there. It looks like I'll need to run it prior to starting a sequence in NINA, as I have done in the NINA Legacy Sequencer. Does this sound right? Thanks for the response.

There isn't an option to automate the guiding assistant. I'm not sure how you would do it (or if you would really want to do that). Having personally used NINA advanced sequencer and PHD for some years, I think the basic operating assumption is your guiding is basically working and set up correctly. You can recalibrate as an option, and with the PHD2 Tools  plugin you can also do things like change exposure time, shut down PHD, etc.. What features are available there is really within the plugin.

Thanks for the advice. I've moved my scope (130GTX on Mach2) to a remote site with dark sky and pretty consistent seeing (Howling Coyote) so I'll run the guiding assistant and use the min move calculations going forward and see how that works. I've got pretty good calibration and have installed the PHD2 Tools plugin.

with the Mach2, i recommend guiding for encoder mounts, which includes sky modeling. You don't guide encoder mounts the same as a regular mount:

I understand, and PHD2 is set up for encoder mounts per the A-P video. Until I moved to HCRO I have had to set up and tear down every night (I have an outdoors pier at my local club observatory so I still do it locally with my Mach1) so I would have to build a new model pretty much every night. Now that I'm on a permanent pier, building a model and setting up to use dec-arc tracking are on my to-do list. That's why I'm finally getting around to learning the advanced sequencer in NINA so I can use Dale Ghent's tools.
