Last night I seemed to be having guiding problems again.  The red Dec line kept spiking downwards.  So I used the guiding asst.  It wasn't too thrilled, reporting that I needed a new calibration and that my PA was way off.  I checked the PA recently and it was off 2 degrees.
I did a new calibration a few weeks ago that was described as "acceptable".  Does acceptable mean marginal?

It doesn't appear you followed the recommendations from you last email? I can see the version is still the same and the focal length of your guidescope is undefined

I asked phd for updates and it reported up to date.
Ah, missing focal length! I will fix that!  Thank you!  So otherwise my calibration is ok?

Sounds like you skipped the specific instructions I sent, not just the one thing.

Why don't you re-read all the instructions below and re-do things. We don't want to waste anyone's time with half-done efforts

Here it is again:

I would suggest:
- updating to the latest dev release (you are still on a standard release, get it from here: https://openphdguiding.org/development-snapshots/)
- creating a new profile for your new mount, making sure to enter your equipment information correctly. your focal length was apparently left blank
- use the calibration assistant, make sure you resolve any errors it's giving you (like the orthogonality error you received)
- use the guiding assistant for a few minutes to get a recommendation on min moves
- increasing your exposure time to 3 seconds (there's no reason to guide a CEM70 that aggressively, at least to start)

PHD2 reports "up to date" with respect to the present General Build.  In many cases, the best approach is to install the latest Development Build, which has been tested significantly.  This is what Bruce requests.
