I'm thinking of upgrading to a Sky Watcher EQ6-R pro mount, I use a MacBook Pro for my sessions now, I was wondering if the mount will be recognized in PHD2 under the section for setting up new equipment without the need of installing drivers. As I don't think there are any available nor is ASCOM for the MacOS. I would hope when I connect the mount via USB that PHD2 would then see it as a new mount and make it available in the connections window. Like it did my ZWO 120mm mini guide scope. I guess I would be able to guide use the ST-4 port on my guide camera, but I've heard guiding through the app is a much better way to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you’re running on a Mac, your only option is to use an INDI mount driver if one is available.  If it isn’t, you will need to use ST-4.

Hi

Mac? PHD2 works with INDI. Use the INDI eqmod driver.

Cheers and HTH
