This site and the GitHub docs generally use "Open Location Code", but the flashy https://plus.codes/ uses "Plus Code".
Is there a reason for two unrelated names? Does one have any kind of priority over the other?

Hi Jeffrey,

the naming pattern we are following (or trying to follow...) is that Open Location Code / OLC is the "technology", while plus code(s) (note no caps) are the individual codes themselves. Initially OLC was the only name but a number of people felt that it is technical, long, and difficult to translate so we moved to using plus codes at least for non-technical outreach.

Cheers,
Rasto
