I've been struggling for the last 8 hours to use OLA to convert an ArtNet signal to DMX
Let me tell you my target and setup:
Setup:
Ubuntu 22.04 WSL on Windows 10
USB to RS485 FTDI FT232RL (Which for a reason is detected as a Serial USB and not as an FTDI USB DMX)
Latest version of OLA
Target:
ArtNet from a program that I can only transmit ArtNet an the time
Output to the FTDI RS485 Converter
Briefly an ArtNet to DMX Converter

I am one step away from succeeding and the only error that stays in the way is this
which repeats as I leave OLA running

I have not been able to find a solution for this error anyone got any ideas?
before getting this error I was getting the error of Access Denied in the same USB port

The whole log in screenshots because I don't know how to export it as text:

You're going to hate this response, but have you seen the FAQ?

You need to disable the Serial USB and enable the FTDI USB DMX plugin then it should all be fine!

I tried using FTDI USB DMX before using Serial USB DMX but I switched to Serial USB after reading another post about someone else using an FTDI chip but had to choose Serial USB
Also, when i choose FTDI USB DMX the terminal prints 0 FTDI Devices found , this after i have connected with USB/IP my computer to WSL and having checked lsusb because the device could be seen there

It really depends on the particular device, but if it's just a dumb FTDI, you probably want the FTDI USB DMX plugin.

You can probably select to highlight in the terminal, or right click and choose select, then hit return to copy it to the clipboard.

Can we see lsusb and lsusb -v output please?

Can we see the logs with -l 4 with the FTDI plugin enabled?

the device gets recognised like any other by freestyler DMXScreenshot_5.png
lsusb and lsusb -vScreenshot_6.png
Screenshot_7.pngScreenshot_8.png
Now, when I run bare olad -l 4
I get this
I'm not gonna put the big list with the loading packets info I'll show you the error directly
Screenshot_13.png
When I start OLA without having run sudo chmod 666 /dev/ttyUSB0 I get permission denied Error
After I run the chmod command I get this errorScreenshot_14.pngScreenshot_15.pngScreenshot_16.png
These are the errors I get after running chmod but I still get no access to the device
What should I do?

Screenshot_18.pngI am back home and I can show you what I get with the FTDI DMX USB
The above one is the output I get when the device is plugged in and I haven't attached it yet.
The below one is the error I get when I have attached the FTDI Converter to the WSL
Screenshot_17.png
Also, to be more specific this is the converter I have

Have you got the relevant udev rule setup too?

I'm not sure you specified how you'd installed OLA, but that should come with the deb package for example.

I tried switching to Debian and I have a good progress( I think)
When I connect the FTDI Converter to Freestyler DMX its LED Starts blinking very fast
Now that I tried installing OLA on Debian when I choose USB Serial (I have tried FTDI USB DMX but I again get 0 devices found) I get a blinking for 1 second and then nothing which means it's receiving something but then stops
This is the output from the terminalScreenshot_19.pngScreenshot_20.png
Also, I get spammed by the terminal with the error message about avahi client daemon not running (I don't have avahi installed)
I tried fixing that too but no luck
But the problems remains, what can I do to keep the USB connected and not disconnecting after one second? and what can I do to stop avahi

I've also ensured that all the drivers are installed and that the FTDI rule is written into the rule file
