Essential Job Accountabilities
End-to-End responsibility for AWS delivery
Lead the migration effort from on prem datacenter to AWS
Help mature cloud practices across the enterprise, enhance cloud strategy, and provide technical leadership supporting in cloud efforts.
Enable advanced cloud-based technologies to increase our operational effectiveness and application responsiveness and resiliency
Responsible for ensuring that critical services are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery
Serve as the lead technical resource for client’s cloud environment and initiatives
Provide technical guidance, designs, road maps, principles, standards, best practices while promoting and enabling cloud capabilities
Post-Migration, set up and lead the Managed Service Provider, for continual optimization and support of AWS.
Education
Associates Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field required
Advanced AWS certifications
Work Experience
8+ years of relevant experience in the design, implementation and support of enterprise AWS environments
5+ years of experience in the build, administration, and maintenance of Windows Server and Active Directory systems
5+ years of experience in network routing, switching, load balancing and firewalls
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In depth knowledge and experience with key AWS services including compute, network, security, cost management, management and governance, disaster recovery, migrations, database, serverless design principles, high availability and storage
Hands-on experience in leading large-scale migration programs with expertise in the following domains: migration strategy design, migration business case creation, application portfolio analysis, application assessment, migration process design, migration tool implementation, migration execution, and operational integration in customer-facing roles
Facilitate and lead teams in determining goals, cost estimating solutions and reviewing existing cloud and legacy on-premise deployments for potential improvements to design, availability, recoverability and cost management.
Experience cost-optimizing a wide variety of applications with varying usage characteristics using approaches such as reservations/commitments, right-sizing, system scheduling, etc.
AWS Infrastructure automation (E.g. shell, Python, Ruby, Powershell, Lamda)
Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience working with software application teams and services, supporting software development teams in a variety of computing architectures and environments
Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to properly manage and prioritize resources and projects
Advanced written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts across various technical IT groups, leadership, audit functions, legal and business unit
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
Ability to work in high production environment, with minimal supervision, and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
Sound decision making ability with the experience to balance consensus against authority as appropriate
Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges
