Hello, all,
I was recently encouraged by Chris Sharp with PINES to join the
Evergreen Reports Taskforce. I have added my name to the membership
list and read the notes from previous meetings. I look forward to
participating in the next meeting.
A brief introduction: I am the Head of Reference and Heritage Depts.
at the Laurens Co. Library in Dublin, GA. I run the reports for our
system using Evergreen 1.4. Most of my knowledge about the Evergreen
reports module is thanks to Katherine Gregory.
My previous reports experience was at Tulane University using
Endeavor's Voyager ILS, which had an Access-based reports module. I
also greatly enjoyed the free software tool, VgerSelect, provided by
Northwestern University Library (
http://www.library.northwestern.edu/
public). This program allowed incredibly easy access to Voyager's
catalog records. I think that it is because of this past experience,
I am very frustrated with how difficult it is in Evergreen to run
reports based on the catalog. But then again, I am very frustrated
with what Evergreen has done to subject headings! (Not the first time
y'all have heard this, right?)
Most of my thoughts about how the Evergreen reports module can be
improved has been shared with Katherine and included in the "PINES
Reports Software Requirements Specification_Final-1.doc," which she
has shared with the group.
Finally, last May Katherine invited me to share some of my reports for
the PINES Annual Meeting. I have since posted those reports here:

Until the next meeting,
Happy Thanksgiving!
Cristina
