This afternoon at 3pm UK time / 5pm Malawian time we'll have the next online meeting to discuss open-HEA and open-IHM.

We very much hope Tiwonge or Brown will be able to join, to update on pt 2 (open-ihm QIP). A number of developers would like to contribute to open-ihm but can't do so until the following steps have been implemented

1. Port the test automation mechanism currently operation on OpenHEA onto OpenIHM.
• configure this as a separate test server and reporting dashboard, not as a joint 2-project mechanism.
• create a test database and scripts to tear down & rebuild the test start point.
• implement a pre-commit hook which prevents code with obvious, preventable errors being pushed. For example, we had a couple of bugs caused by .py files not being committed to the repository or being deleted from the repository. The developer committing the code could not see the problem because they still had a copy of the byte-compiled version of the same file, but the error could easily have been caught by the script here.
• implement a post-commit hook which automatically triggers a continuous integration system to run unit tests
• on each commit, the CI should:
• to run all the tests
• mail the developer list if a code check-in does not include a test check-in (ie no new test or change to existing test)

Brown, you were pretty optimistic when we met in Zomba! Hope you have been able to make a start. Please post any questions or queries to the group here.
