Leave no trace? How to combat ‘off the record’ government

#OGP16 Global Summit | 9 December | 15.30–16.50 | Room 5, Palais d’Iéna

The goal of this workshop is to identify common barriers and

solutions to record-keeping for good governance, and to come up

with innovative and practical policy proposals for OGP Action National Plans

Workshop running order

       10 minute scene setting – Nuala Haughey, Think-tank for Action on Social Change

       20 minute break out groups – brainstorming barriers and solutions to record keeping for good governance – see below

       60 minute plenary discussion – moderator Helen Derbyshire, Access Info Europe

Break-out groups: barriers and solutions & practical policy proposals

Groups will discuss and identify what key records are needed for decision-making transparency.

We will identify barriers and solutions to proper government record-keeping and collectively come up

with policy solutions with a focus on three areas:

·         Good governance and accountability

·         Access to Information

·         Citizen’s participation in decision-making
