Hi all,
I'm a new user of the Open Ephys software, and I'm hoping to use the Network Events source module to receive data about trials sent over TCP/IP. The wiki page titled "Spike sorting & PSTH" seems to have the most thorough explanation about the commands that can be read by the Network Events module. This page also mentions example code about sending messages to the GUI from GUI from C++ /MATLAB, but I can't find it on GitHub. Such an example would be really helpful for me. Does anyone know if this exists, and if so, where it can be found? Or, does anyone have MATLAB code of their own that communicates over TCP/IP with the Network Events module that they would be willing to share?

Thanks! Excited to be joining this community!

Hi Ryan,

I just put the necessary files for sending messages from Matlab in the Resources/Matlab folder. I should get around to documenting them later this week, but in the meantime you can take a look at the example m-file.

I’ll send out another message when the documentation is ready.

I added a page on the wiki that explains how to interface with the Network Events module.

If you run into any problems (especially related to the ZeroMQ library, which can be tricky to install, depending on your operating system), don’t hesitate to ask the mailing list or email me directly.

There’s still more to be documented, but it helps to have specific questions to guide my writing process.

Thanks for your help, Josh. I sent you a direct message about some issues we're still having.

Best,
Ryan
