Has the new OE Acquisition Board with custom FPGA (shipped in Dec 2022) been tested with Bonsai? I use the Rhd2000Eval Board node in Bonsai, which requires a Rhythm bitfile, which I assume is FPGA-specific - I didn't find a bitfile in the new github repo https://github.com/open-ephys-plugins/rhythm-oni-plugin

Using previous bitfiles returns the error message 'Device could not be opened. Is one connected?'

In the log file:
'---- Intan Technologies ---- Rhythm RHD2000 Controller v1.0 ----
Scanning USB for Opal Kelly devices...
Found 0 Opal Kelly devices connected'

Thanks,
Helen

Dear Helen,

Yes, these boards work in Bonsai. You need to use a different package called Bonsai.OpenEphys with acquisition boards that have the new Open Ephys FPGA.

In the new FGPA module the bitfile resides permanently on the board instead of being uploaded each time. This makes it easier to use it across different software and avoids bitfile path issues. However, this means that if there are any updates to the gateware you have to upload the bitfile manually. Please make sure you update the gateware on your FPGA module by following the instructions on the Gateware updates page.

Best regards,

Ceci
