Hi everyone,

I'm assembling tetrodes for the shuttleDrive and am wondering about suppliers for the nichrome wire. The original company Sandvik doesn't seem to carry the tetrode wire originally described anymore. We're currently using the A-M Systems insulated nichrome wire, which is slightly thicker than the 12.5 um wire suggested. Had the community found other readily available and suitably thin, insulated nichrome wires for building these tetrodes that works for the shuttleDrive?

Thanks for your input.

Best,
Ki-Soo

Hi,

I think this is the company making tetrode wire these days. Not sure if its a rebrand, or the were the OEM for Sandvik, or just its a strange coincidence that they all of a sudden have wire thats very similar to what Sandvik was selling

You can get it on amazon in rolls of various length.

Jon

Hi Jon,

Thanks for sharing Alleima as the new tetrode wire supplier. It looks like its a subsidiary of Sandvik that handles these research use materials. The specifications and item codes look identical with past inventory.

I'll look into ordering them via Amazon. Appreciate your help.

Best,
Ki-Soo
