Hi,
I am using the GUI with a Neuropixels electrode. The computer is connected to a NI chassis in which the imec card and a NI-6341 daq reside. My current problem is with synchronizing the digital signals with the recorded channels of the NP. Following the guidelines I have merged the neuropixels-pxi and DAQmx sources into a Recording-node, set the  neuropixels-pxi as the Master, and the DAQ receives the sync signal on the 1st digital channel (I also disconnected this line, but with similar results). When I start acquiring, the orange change to green on the imec board, but the daq remains orange. I can see the 1Hz of the DIO in the LFP viewer of the neuropixels-pxi, however in the LFP viewer of the daq I see a constant ON. I confirmed that the SMA gives constant 4.9V out. I also confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the card by using the same hardware and connection with SpikeGLX, which produced alternating 1Hz signal and passed sync test. 
I use the latest version of the GUI and plugins.

Any ideas?

Hi Anan,

I just tested my NI-6341 card and syncing with Neuropixels is working properly in OpenEphys using a 1Hz sync.

Since your LFP Viewer shows constant ON for the NIDAQ module, that means the sync signal is not detected on the NIDAQ's digital lines. The output of the SMA should be physically connected to one of the P0 digital inputs on the terminal block (not the PFI ones). 

Also, if you have analog inputs available on your terminal block, you can try connecting the output to the SMA sync to any of the analog inputs and see if the sync shows up in the LFP Viewer as a continuous channel.

Thanks for the prompt response. 
I believe it is not the matter of the NIDAQ not detecting the signal, but the signal is not created properly by the imec card. I have tested the SMA output with a voltmeter, and it is a constant 4.9V. By the way, the SMA is indeed physically connected to P0. The imec card produce the sync signal internally to the imec card, as I can see it in the LFP viewer of the electrodes, but no such signal comes out of the SMA. Oddly, SpikeGLX seems to make the SMA output that 1Hz signal.

Ah I see, so the Neuropixels-PXI module sync settings are set to 'OUTPUT' and '1 Hz', and the sync signal is present on NP LFPViewer but the SMA output stays high (4.9V)?  Are you using the latest version of the Neuropixels-PXI plugin (0.3.0) available via the PluginInstaller?

Exactly as you described, and yes, my Neuropixels-PXI plugin is of the latest version.

Hi Anan,

I've just released a new version of the Neuropixels-PXI plugin (0.3.1) that fixes the SMA output setting for V1 basestations. 
Can you try installing this version via PluginInstaller and see if that fixes the issue?
