Hello

I am setting up my first OE system (0.6.6). I installed it, configurated and was testing it with some devices for data synchronization. The setup is meant to record animal positions through LEDs and neuronal activity (I use Bonsai to send the LEDs coordinates to OE). However, very recently, the OE GUI keeps being not responding when the GUI is being launched, seemingly loading something (busy mouse logo), the only things I could do was to forcefully close it.

There are no error messages in the terminal during launch. The issue is still around even after reinstalling the software, even with previous version. I restored Windows to a previous state before the issue arised and nothing changed. I disconnected and reconnected (or not) each plug being used on the acquisition board to see if it was hardware related somehow but to no avail. I think I also removed all the files related to the last configuration or last installation, but still not working. OE still detects the acquisition board as it complains during launch when I remove the USB connection. However, when I tried to run the software in a another computer (basic setup with just acquisition board and ITAN headstage) and it seems to work well. Meaning that the issue seems related to the computer.

Does anyone have any idea as of how to deal with that please?

Hi,

This is indeed strange behavior. Does this happen even when you launch the GUI with a clean signal chain? Just want to make sure if  it works fine if there is not configuration to load. You can load the GUI in a clean state after removing the lastConfig.xml and recoveryConfig.xml files from this path: C:\ProgramData\Open Ephys\configs-api8.

Also, before removing, can you share the lastConfig.xml  and activity.log file from the above mentioned folder?

Best,
Anjal

Hi Anjal,

I did what you suggested and it works now, thank you very much!

I thought I somehow got rid of those config related files already when resintalling since I could not see them but I did not know this path.

To answer your question, the signal chain was not apparent on the GUI when this issue happened but maybe this is what OE tried to load in the first place then.

Best,
Jean-Yves

Sorry I forgot, here the last config files I found after your suggestion.
