Thanks Josh. I will try to install the drivers.
I will try that first and hopefull that fixes the problem because this laptop only has USB-C (although I could try other adapters). I will report back here.
Thanks,
Nelson

Yes, please try installing the drivers via the .zip file. It’s also possible that the adapter is causing problems. Do you have any direct-to-USB-A ports on that laptop?

Should I install using the zip file instead of using the recommended installer? https://open-ephys.github.io/gui-docs/User-Manual/Installing-the-GUI.html

Hi,
I have been running the GUI version 0.5.3.1 on an old laptop with the open ephys system (old one purchased in 2014 or 2015) without any issues. The system is connected directly to a USB port.
However, when I run the GUI on a new laptop running Windows 10 Enterprise with the system connected to a USB-C via an adapter for multiple USB-A to a single USB-C out, I get an "acquisition board not found" error in the GUI. The Debug console reports the following (sorry copy paste does not work, so I include a screen shot):
I saw an old post about this topic from 2016, but could not figure out how to apply the information on that post to solving this problem.
Has anyone encountered this and have some suggestions to try out?
Thanks,

Hi Josh,
Installation of the drivers was the issue. Thanks again for helping us solve this.
