Hi,
i am implementing a system of closed loop acoustic stimulation using the plugin python processor, with a custom-made code reading and analyzing the eeg signal.
I need to add a trigger signal for the audio, using the input/output board, to mark the audio stimuli time on openephys (and record these as events to synchronize with eeg signals). The audio stimulation start from the pc via audio aux , based on the python code inserted in the Openephys.
Do I have to connect the PC to I/O board with BMC cable and I/O board to the Acquistion Board with HDMI?
Has anyone had experience with it?

Thanks !

Hi Eleonora,

The I/O board is *only* meant to connect to the acquisition board via the HDMI cable, it should never be plugged directly into a PC.

Do you have a separate digital event that's sent when the audio stimulus is triggered? If yes, the HDMI cable should go in the right-most HDMI port (closest to the headstage connectors) to record the digital signal. If there's no digital event (i.e., the anlaog audio waveform is all you have access to), the HDMI cable should go in the second port from the left (analog in). See the acquisition board quickstart guide for a diagram.

Best,
Josh
