I formatted my smartmedia card in esx-1,
copied the .esx file on it.
Connected the card to my Mac with a card reader, copied the file to desktop.
Opened it up with OEE, did some editing in sample library (erasing a couple of samples, put a few 16 bit samples in)
Saved the file succesfully, replaced the card's original file with my new edited file.
Put the card into ESX-1, hit "load"
"CARD FMT ERROR".

Help please?

After formatting the card, copying the .esx file into it the esx-1 will load it as it should. Messing with the file with OEE makes the error message appear :(

Can you email the 2 files to me (or post them somewhere so I can check them out)?

#1 - The file that works (and loads okay)
#2 - The file that you edited (and no longer loads into the ESX)

I haven't ran into this issue before.  Does it happen with every file you edit/create, or just this one?  Have you been able to load any files from your Mac onto your ESX (ones that haven't been edited w/ OEE)?

Also, which version of the ESX do you have?  Is it the original ESX-1, or the ESX-1SD?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I will provide you the files tomorrow as it is way past sleeping time in this continent.

I was just able to load an edited .esx file into ESX-1. I gave it a different name than the original and saved it on the Smartmedia with the original. Both showed up in the loading menu of ESX-1. Seemed like everything was okay, but after 200th-ish sample in the edited file no samples had any sound, not even the ones that were okay in the original file. Their names showed up when scrolling through samples on ESX-1 though, but all silent.

My esx-1 is the original Smartmedia one.

Ok.  Thanks for the info.

What you're describing sounds like a bug (and one I've never heard of).  I can hopefully walk through what steps you took, and maybe I'll be able to figure out what's going on.  It will help to get a hold of the original file (before adding samples in OEE), then getting ahold of the samples you are trying to load in (and in what positions).

Have a good night.
