Hi there, thanks up front for a great and useful tool! I've been using open electribe editor for a while now with no issues. however, a few days ago I tried to load a few 16 bit pcm wav samples into the editor, and to my dismay, two out of the seven loaded, but the others did not. Is there a workaround for this, or anything i can try to troubleshoot the issue? this happened with version 1.04 (x86) on my windows 7 x64 home edition pc.

Thanks!

If you were using 1.0.4, I think this bug may have still existed:

https://github.com/skratchdot/open-electribe-editor/issues/15

It should be fixed now though.  With that said, there might still be an issue.  It *should* handle any 16 bit pcm .wav that the ESX can handle.  Can you send me an example of a .wav that won't load?

Sure thing! yes, I was using v.1.04. here is a link to one of the samples that wouldn't load:

the samples in question still won't load for me using v1.1.0 x86 32 bit version.

Thank you for this!  I'll try to check it out, and report back if I figure out what the issue is...

Actually, for me the sample is importing.  One thing: it's a stereo sample, so it's being imported into the first open stereo slot.

This is a usability issue though (and should be fixed).

If you go to the "info" page, and drag the sample there, you'll notice that "samples used" increases.

Also, I've logged this bug (similar issue): https://github.com/skratchdot/open-electribe-editor/issues/17

Can you tell me if the sample is not loading at all for you, or if it's loading in the stereo slot (and just not auto-scrolling there- so it looks like it wasn't added).

I've wondered if I should auto-scroll to the last sample imported.  Does anyone think that would be a good idea?

Maybe I should expose a "preference".  Something that lets you choose between:

1- load mono samples into first available mono slot, load stereo samples into first available stereo slot
2- load mono and stereo samples into first available slot
3- load mono and stereo samples into the place they were dragged

That would be brilliant.

My only niggle with the current version is that it always loads
samples to the first available slot, meaning I have to then drag it
afterwards to where I want it to be (as I organise my samples into
'blocks' of similar, eg all kick drums together, snares together,
etc). That in itself isn't a problem, but it then moves all the other
samples down to fill the gap, meaning I have to move every sample
again afterwards. Which is a bit of a pain.

I do hate complaining about this program, though, because it has
genuinely saved me hours and hours of time over the years (along with
the previous version) and made organising samples in the ESX so much
easier!

Thanks again.
