delete some samples from your electribe, space on a card doesn't
matter, you're out of internal flash

your patch exceeds what the machine can hold, and the editor knows that.
you can sort samples by size in the editor, so you know which ones
occupy largest chunks. you can ditch them, trim them, or, what I
personallt recommend, downsample them. plenty of samples sound equally
as good at 32khz and on bassy samples you can often get away with
22khz just fine

no you need to use an external editor like audition, soundforge etc

Sorry for the delay in responding (and thanks filip for helping out).  Len- the esx limit is a little over 285 seconds of sampling space.  This editor lets you add more than that (but it shows up in red- and as a negative number to let you know how much space you have to clear before it saves).

It's pretty annoying.  At one point I showed an alert box letting you know you couldn't add any more samples, but that was kind of annoying as well, so I decided to let users be able to add as many samples as they want, but prevent saving until you've cleared enough space (i.e. only use ~285 seconds).

In the new version, I want to allow downsampling, and include more tools for saving space, etc.  For this version (like filip said), you'll have to use an external tool to downsize, then re-add the sample.  In addition to the tools filip recommended, there are some free tools you can use like Audacity (GUI) or Sox (Command Line).

The best way to save space is by changing the sampling rate, or using mono samples instead of stereo samples.

Good luck!!

Thanks so much Jeff

I did try all of the above changing sampling rate, mono, 16bit etc

I also didn't notice any samples coming up in red

But I'll take a look later when I get in the studio

Thanks so much

Cheers

Len-

Sorry, I unintentionally lied.  I thought the "memory free" showed up in red when it was negative, but my memory failed me.  It doesn't seem like it shows up in red, but it does show the negative sign.

This is a screenshot after loading in FACTORY.esx (there are still 87.5 seconds of space available):

Then I dragged-and-dropped a bunch of other files to get this:

In the 2nd screenshot there are -62.9 seconds of space available meaning that I need to delete 62.9 seconds of samples before I can save the file.

I know this is pretty frustrating.  So what I should have referred to in my last email was the "Memory Free" text above the table that lists all the samples.  If that's ever negative, then you won't be able to save the file until you get the "Memory Free" to be a positive number (or 0).

I started working on a new version a while back, but a few things have prevented me from finishing. Hopefully I can focus on this again.

If you are still having issues, send me an email, and maybe I can help debug what the problem is.

Good luck!
