Dear colleague,

After having follow some of the discussions that already happened, Bartek and I recognized the need for a common terminology about the basics of EIT measurement.

The proposed terminology (see attached image) is as follow:

A “measurement” is a single voltage read out

A “frame” is a collection of measurements that contains sufficient read out for an image reconstruction. Of course for difference imaging 2 different frames are required, one reference frame and the current frame.

A “recording” is a collection of frames; a recording is saved in a single .oeit file

A “data set” is a collection of recordings; they are saved in a plurality of .oeit files

Comments are welcome.

Best regards,

Pascal

I totally  agree with that, but I would add: sample for a single measurement point

Dear Steffen,

thank you very much for your comment. To my opinion a "sample" would more likely refers to the ADC direct readouts (i.e. like in ADC sample rate) or to the imaged medium.

An other opinion?
