Dear All,

The open EIT project got a presentation time slot (Wed 24 April 2013: EIT/Hw session) at the annual EIT conference this year in Heilbad Heiligenstadt (Germany). The participants will have an update about the newest development.

Additionally, we were thinking about organizing a small meeting after the conference on Thursday for example starting at 1330. Since we need to know how many people would be interested, we would like to ask you to quickly answer to this post. The topic of this meeting would be to discuss all the open issues in OEIT and to make a further step towards a first version.

We are looking forward for the interesting discussions during and outside the official sessions,

Pascal, Bartek, Andy, Hervé

Hi Pascal,

I'll be there. Do we have a list of the open issues?

I would like to see if I can ask a student to start working on converter
programs ("legacy formats" to oeit) for eidors starting in may or june.

Hopefully, the format will be ready (or almost ready) to go by then.

Dear Andy,

as you correctly mention it, I would like to discuss the open questions. The bigger goal for me would be to go home on Friday with all the information to close the description document for OEIT 1.0.

The open issues are:

  • final approval of the architecture: Structure of the Zip-file, structure of the binary data, ...
  • xml formatting: dtd or relax NG for example
  • header files formatting and content
This meeting will the last chance for the community to influence the architecture or the specification of the format before the first implementation.

Pascal
