* Fund raising launched. 200 pledged + 174 donated = 374, so almost
half to what we asked for.

* There's been a few problems with the web page for people to confirm
whether they are coming. Some people had already emailed to say they
weren't coming, so of the original registrations 44 were ask to confirm
when they'll be here. So far 16 have confirmed they're coming. I think
in total 25 people have tried to access the registration confirmation page.

* New composting toilet finished: urine diversion installed, access
door insect proofed, door latch installed, painting complete etc. Just
waiting for the call of nature to start the next round of testing.

* Corrected alignment problems with CEB press and eject mechanism now
works. Will try and make bricks tomorrow.

* 1000L water container has been delivered. Turns out it's second
hand. The previous contents was glycerol. I've cleaned and sanitised it
thoroughly. Plan is to fill it with water from the spring, add 5 mg/l
chlorine (5ppm, or 100ml of 5% bleach solution) and use it for
cooking/cleaning (rather than drinking).

* Mesh roof of dome finished.

* New signs directing people around the site installed.

* Spanish language pages on web site currently broken - accented
characters displaying incorrectly.

Sure, but maybe wait a until lunchtime - I'll take some photos later today and post it as a blog entry.

I'm just finishing up a few more mods to the CEB press will then try to press some bricks. If that works I'll get onto updating the schedule.

There was a suggestion of replacing the oven building with pond building. We could also try and make our own oven by ourselves.

Christopher.

Sounds good.

Be a shame not to make an oven. I've been marginally involved in quickly lashing together a small one, it's not exactly rocket science, and there's plenty of guides online.

Hello all,

The possibility to make a proper oven was put on the table. The person running the workshop was requesting for materials and some support in the form of "social money" which sounded quite sensible. The reply has been that at this stage we have no money for workshop runners, we might have some money after the camp funding campaigns but is not something we can promise.
The person in question logically found a workshop that supported him with energy, for him to be able to run more workshops, therefore this is out of the table at this stage.

Because Extremadura is in HIGH fire season and the fact we lost our expert, the workshops should align towards non potential fire exercises in order to take care of the environment.

All the best!

Angel
