Hi,
I have been looking at the Open-DSOPF very recently. I want to implement the distribution network reconfiguration capability to the existing model.

So, my question is , whether the branch statuses are considered as a decision variables right now?

I will appreciate any of your suggestions toward the implementation of the network reconfiguration scheme.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Jubeyer

Dear Jubeyer,

This paper describes the formulation that is available on GitHub: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/340342395_Open-DSOPF_an_open-source_optimal_power_flow_formulation_integrated_with_OpenDSS

In response to your question; no, branch statuses are not considered as decision variables but you should be able to incorporate them. If I'm correct, that may require mixed-integer programming and could be done by incorporating binary variables in equations (4)-(5) (see the paper or lines 139-144 from OPF_model_creator_v01.py as I do with the 'connectivity' parameter there). Have in mind that if an area becomes totally isolated, you won't have a reference for the solver to converge.

Best regards,
Valentin
