Segway Slingshot

Thanks for joining the project. At this point, the project is barely
a vision. I'm wondering if it is feasible to design a system that is
affordable and effective. In my mind, affordable means less than
$2000 while serving around 100 people. Thoughts?

The Segway Slingshot is perfect, except that it costs "several
hundreds of thousands of dollars" to build.

It seems like there are two approaches we could take. We could take
an existing proven technology and drive the cost down by improving the
design and manufacturing processes. Or, we could look for some new
breakthrough technology that would be inexpensive to produce. In
either case, we are on a well traveled path but I hope that the
internet can bring the intellectual capacity of many people together
in a way that will be productive. Do you think this is possible?
