About 10 years ago some people on this list made
remtl.ca (don't look, it doesn't exist anymore!) which mapped Montreal's contamination 'certificates' and decontamination 'certificates'. It was Michael Lenczner's idea and he banged a bunch of heads together at a hackathon, maybe in 2011. It took about 100-150 hours to makes, with a few iterations of a scraper, some creative writing and lots of LOVE. It was lovely, the result. (Heri, Alok, Ben! where are you? ;-))
I am volunteering with an activist group that wants to make another scrape of public data with a view (this time) to protecting our last little bits of wild space in the Montreal region.
Anyone wanna jump on board? Got some advice? We are at the very beginning stages.
