Folks,

Just a quick note to point you guys towards a blog post I wrote about
a way to turn UUIDs into OpenIDs... :)

I'm really in favour of this approach, not just for ODD but for any
format that attempts to share data about a person in a
machine-readable way. It makes a ton of sense for the OpenID URL to be
the web-based hub for information about that person.

Any thoughts from anyone else?

This is essentially the premise of DiSo -- that you run your own site, which probably also doubles as your identity (mine does at factoryjoe.com). You link to your profile data (factoryjoe.com/hcard.html) and to your services (XRDS-Simple document coming soon) and to your contact like (factoryjoe.com/blog/roll -- incomplete) and voila, I now have a complete, personal identity endpoint.

Coupled with rel-me/identity consolidation, and you can start to discover all the other services that I also use:

Anyway, no reason why you can't roll this into ODD, it's just that it exists elsewhere, and is much more widely supported.
