It has been suggested by a number of people that we explore wrapping
ODD up in Atom.

This is something I think it would be worth exploring. While I still
feel that we should maintain the existing schema (perhaps as ODD-
Simple), I think that an Atom version could be very powerful (letting
people use existing parsers etc).

What are people's thoughts on this?

yes - it's essential that OpenDD is seen as something that is simple and can
be adapted to Atom, RSS, microformats and get utilized by mechanisms such as
OpenID2's attribute exchange.

Yes - go.

What might you want to change?
Give it a namespace and a media type you're basically done :-)

Cheers,
Danny.

As usual, I don't disagree Mr.Canter...

For it to work with microformats & OpenID AX you'll probably need to define a data model aside from the current syntax - one way would be via RDF.
(I'm just saying, that's all... :-)

Cheers,
Danny.

oh really - now that’s a surprising solution - just kidding!

obviously there will need to be multiple flavors of OpenDD for it to work

Since I had championed this idea, I'll just throw in a +1.

I also think that using hAtom + microformats will also work well for existing lifestreaming sites.

Oh, and any thoughts on http://oembed.com?

I take a look to emebed and I liked their approach.

It is a easy way to interchange some time of contents between sites.

I'm not sure how it could be related inside the odd spec, but sure
will be a desirable for a social network platform. In the case of Elgg
(classic or 1.0 it could be added how a plugin, I think.)

It looks like a fairly trivial format to implement, so I see no reason
not to provide this view especially if there are others using it....
We want to make Elgg 1 as interoperable as possible ;)

Something for the list anyway ;)

Folks,

Just a quick note to say that I have put an early draft of OpenDD-over-
Atom up on the website:

http://www.opendd.net/resources/ODD_Over_Atom_V0.1(draft).pdf

and blogged about it here:
