Hello everyone,
Greetings from the Open Knowledge Foundation (OKFN)! I hope you are doing well.
I'm writing this email with an opportunity for you as members of the Open Data Day community.
Since last year, as you may know, our team has been working on a new tool aimed at people who work with data but have no technical knowledge of coding or programming, the Open Data Editor (ODE). The first stable version was released last year and we are now working to release version 1.4.0 in the coming weeks. More information can be found here.
The app was launched in conjunction with a data literacy course, Quality and Consistent Data with the Open Data Editor (developed in partnership with Escola de Dados and Open Knowledge Brazil).
We would like to offer this course as an open resource for you to use in your training practices. Well, this is already available – the course is free and open to everyone. But we also want to offer training for multipliers, on a "train the trainers" basis. Just like we do with the Open Data Day mini-grants, the intention is to distribute small funds to those who, once trained, can demonstrate that they have used the course with more people in their localities and contexts.
If you're interested in this initiative and the multiplier training, here's an invitation: please join us for an informative call we're organising on 16 April 2025, at 13:00 CET. We'll present the idea in more detail and talk about this model of distributed impact and funding.
