Hi everybody!
I'd like to start a discussion about how I view this series of sites,
but all of this can change of course. First, comes the Wiki at
http://sites.google.com/site/opencatalogingrules/, which currently
consists of all of the latest LCRIs (from the list taken from the list
of latest RI), plus my own comments to problems I found.
http://sites.google.com/site/opencatalogingrules/current-lcris
Added to this are the links into the latest ISBD, to make it more
useful.
http://sites.google.com/site/opencatalogingrules/isbd-areas,
then simply a listing of different guides for cataloging on the web,
placing them for further work at:
http://sites.google.com/site/opencatalogingrules/cataloging-ru.
[do we need a page that discusses what are the LCRIs and their
relationship to AACR2, and the relationship of ISBD to AACR2?]
Becky Yoose is putting up an index at
http://sites.google.com/site/opencatalogingrules/subject-list-for-autocat-messages,
which could wind up being very useful as a kind of index to the site,
but the more I look at it, it could also become a type of Wikipedia
for catalogers, which I hadn't thought of before.
The other section, the Conceptual Outline,
http://sites.google.com/site/opencatalogingrules/conceptual-outline is
a complete experiment, to try to provide a ground for discussion.
There is also the blog and of course, this part.
Right now, I think that the major discussions should take place here,
any decisions in the Wiki, and the Blog for news and announcements,
but of course, it might turn out in some other way!
Any thoughts on this. What is missed?
