Hello everyone and welcome to the Open Badges in Education (OBIE) mailing list and community!

This group has been initiated at the Open Badges in Education 2014 Workshop (OBIE 2014) in August 2014, Tallinn, Estonia. During this Workshop we had highly interesting and lively discussions on many important topics related to Open Badges, and to keep the discussion live and to evolve a community around the concept and technology of Open Badges, we agreed to set up this online community space. Hence, this Google Group is intended to serve as a communication channel for the Workshop participants and contributors, as well as all researchers, educators, Open Badges enthusiasts, and everyone else who is interested in, willing to learn about, and/or work/experiment with Open Badges in educational settings.

You are most welcome to contribute to the group in any of the following ways:

share any news, announcements, or findings related to Open Badges that you consider potentially interesting and/or relevant for other community members;
initiate discussions related to any topic or question that is either directly or indirectly related to Open Badges;
share your experience in designing, implementing and/or deploying an Open Badges system;
promote new ideas and efforts that might advance Open Badges, add value to their use and applications, and facilitate their development

You are also encouraged to seek advice from other community members about any open question or challenge you come across while learning about or working with Open Badges.

Finally, this is not a closed community, but one that intends to grow and develop. Hence, if you know some other people who would be interested to join, please, do let them know about the Group and encourage them to join us.
