Hi all,

The next Open Auto Club meeting will be Wednesday, June 19th at 1pm Pacific / 4pm Eastern / 8pm ART / 12am UK / 7am Taiwan Time.

OAC's own Paul Ross will share insights from his recent review paper on the field of Soft Robotics. Here's a little more from Paul:

The rapid transformation that Soft Robotics has undergone in the most recent past has been fueled by the advent of new materials with novel properties and innovation in the processes of fabrication capable of turning them into usable parts.

The potential these developments hold and the new horizons they have opened are exemplified by the emergence of robots formed at the intersection of Soft Robotics and Sythetic Biology that fuse mechanical parts and biological components

This presentation will profile the latest trends in Soft Robotics and offer a view to future, showcasing initial forays into the creation of robots that draw on Soft Robotics and Synthetic Biology and offer an insight into the shape that future might take.

Hi all,

A quick reminder that Open Auto Club will be this Wednesday, June 19th at 1pm Pacific / 4pm Eastern / 8pm ART / 12am UK / 7am Taiwan Time.

For those of you not in the US, Wednesday is Juneteenth, our newest federal holiday. Borrowing from my local representative's email blast on the subject:
Now the nation's newest Federal Holiday, Juneteenth originates from June 19, 1865, when news of Union victory in the Civil War, and enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Galveston, Texas. The next year, freedmen in Texas held the first annual celebration of "Jubilee Day" on June 19, which continued to grow into the Juneteenth celebration we know today.

Looking forward to spending some of the holiday with you. I hope you're excited to hear about Soft Robotics!

Tim
