Hi all,
Join Open Automation Club on Wednesday the
25th of June at 9am Pacific / 12pm Eastern / 17h UK for a presentation from Madeline Wolf and Joshu Coats on their recent piece
Device Drivers are Hard.
Madeline is an automation engineer specialized in large-scale wetlab
R&D systems. She founded
The Automated Lab, a free educational
resource, to help make lab automation more open and accessible.
An excerpt from the piece:
Any engineer who has had to work with an integrated system has been
frustrated by a device driver.
They’re an easy target for frustration, because they define the capabilities
and limitations of how a given lab instrument works as part of a workcell.
In fact, even the engineers who write their own drivers feel this
frustration. Why is it so hard to write a good device driver?
You'll also receive a calendar invite.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
