The idea for the project combined Brian's interests in computer vision
and augmented reality games with John's interests in voice
applications and educational software--all of which had been showcased
at Kiwi PyCon 2009 in Christchurch, New Zealand on 7-8 November 2009
(http://nz.pycon.org/ with slides at http://www.slideshare.net/tag/kiwipycon
"Python in Computer Vision" and "Voice Interaction in Python").
A series of introductory and demo videos were produced and posted to
YouTube: http://bit.ly/openallure
By 18-24 January 2010, the first prototype tutorial software was shown
at LCA in Wellington, New Zealand during the education miniconference
(http://www.lca2010.org.nz/wiki/Education_talk_3d).
This discussion list was created 25 January 2010.
