Hello,

would anyone what "w" attribute in the field of study (fos) is? Should I assume it is weight? And if yes how are they calculated and why are they not normalized to 1?

"w" represents weight or confidence score. Please see the MAG data schema (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/academic-services/graph/reference-data-schema) and "w" here refers to "Score" in "Paper Fields of Study".

About weight calculation, MAG has published related computation methods in http://export.arxiv.org/pdf/1805.12216.
