During our current Election, we discovered that OpaVote does not support what is necessary for disabled members.   We are asking OpaVote to improve their accessibility for disabled people so that our voices are counted in terms of equality with non-disabled people. The current state of inaccessibility means that OpaVote's clients are being put in positions where they are excluding votes from disabled people. We want to ask OpaVote to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 to at least the AA conformance level. We also want to ask OpaVote to post a public accessibility commitment on their website and provide avenues for disabled clients and users to receive specific accessibility support.

Hello Warren,

Thank you for calling attention to this.

After taking over OpaVote this year, we made a plan to do a complete accessibility audit using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines from the W3C. Unfortunately, because of our limited resources, we have not executed on that plan yet, but we hope to start on it in the coming months.

In the meantime, what accessibility issues have you come across? We may be able to make smaller more targeted changes sooner if we know what would have the biggest impact.

Thank you,
— Damien, Team OpaVote
