This is excellent! Luis sent me a pre-release beta of his latest
toolkit which I have been using for about 2 weeks with great success.
The configuration allows arbitrary THREDDS or OpenDAP urls in the
configuration file, either hosted locally or on remote TDS servers. I
have been using it to extract time series for both WW3 and NECOFS
FVCOM 48 and 72 hour forecasts in the North East Atlantic at
particular grid points. The installation via Tomcat was a breeze and
if you know OpenDAP urls configuration should be simple as well. And
I know just a little Java and even less TDS. The SOS is serving 42
different offerings, wave height and water level forecasts. The SOS
is at: http://www3.gomoos.org:8080/oostethys
All these offerings are from remote TDS urls. WW3 and NECOFS FVCOM
models.
The GetCapabilities request is a bit slow, but I think 42 TDS
requests are made to get the time ranges for each forecast. But the
GetObservation requests I have been making are very speedy.
Great work Luis.

Great work.
I will be installing at NANOOS to front our THREDDS server. I'll let you know how it goes.
