Hi,

I've emailed you links to filefactory.com - where you wil find the
compiler.
Hope this helps.

I did think that the compiler *was* also available at brainmonkey ?

Denis

Hi,

Thanks a lot mate, I've been looking for it for about a month now...
Can you tell me if that installer is pre or post the "6.1.2" oEvent
fix? Or should I install it and then replace files with those found in
the "Manuals tutorials" file?
Thanks again.

Dennis Clarke's code is the latest available. as far as I know.

You could get his book at : http://users.frii.com/dlc/robotics/botlinks.htm
for $ 10.00 plus all code upgrades.

I really cannot say if you should install the upgrades . It's been
some time since i looked at the code in any detail.
However, I do suspect that the suggested update would not do any harm
since it would
only replace identical code if it had already been incorporated.

Regards

Denis :)

Sorry, but I don't follow.
I was refferring to the files you sent me, one of them is the
installer for the 6.1.1 compiler, and I was asking if this is the
version that suffers from the oEvent problem or if it's the fixed one?
And suggested that it was the version before the fix but that can be
patched with the files from the other ZIP file.

As for DLC, I actually own a hard copy of his book (Make that both his
books), are you saying that I can get the patch from him given that
fact? What code does he offer?

Cheers

>I was asking if this is the version that suffers from the oEvent problem or if it's the fixed one?
Sorry, I don't know of the oEvent problem. It's been quite a few years
since I looked at or used
the comiler.

As for Dennis Clarke - I got his book last year by emailing him. He
provided links to the book & code as
follows:

CD installs, errata and such (about 17MB)
The book, in PDF by chapters: (about 38MB)
The source code referenced in the book (under 1MB)
( i simply used these to revisit my (very old) roamer robot and did
not
explore beyond that)

I'm assuming that the fix for the oEvent may have been referred to in
the 'errata and such' .

Since you have both Dennis' book , perhaps he would answer your
question ?

Regards

Denis

Hi guys,

I may have confused the issue re version 6.1.1 and 6.1.2 recently by
sending links to 6.1.1 to some person who asked for the OOPic compiler
recently.

It fixes the oEvent issue.

I've now put another file on Filefactory.com that will allow updating
of 6.1.1 to 6.1.2.
If anybody needs to update it just email me

Regards

Denis

On the outside chance that anyone is still following this group... I'm looking for the 6.1.2 compiler now as well, and it seems that all the sites I've tried have gone black.  Anyone know where I can still find the 6.1.2 IDE?  I currently have 5.0.1 (!)

I should be able to organize that for you.
I stored the files on a file sharing site some time ago and I have copies here.
Give me a little time and I will sort it.

It looks like brainmonkey.us redirects to iis.net now, and it's something totally different.  The oopic sites are all coming down....

Thanks, Denis, for provider the compiler and manual. Compiler version 6.1.1 works on windows 7, 64-bit. I haven't hooked the oopic up yet- I need serial (9 pin) to USB adapter for that.

Has anyone recommend a specific rs-232 to usb adapter cable they have used? Thanks!

Thanks for the files.  I am still unable to get it to under windows 7 however.  Tried XP compatibility mode as well.
