webserver contents? , generating digest.txt not working

Hello im having trouble understanding what my webserver should contain, what is the myapp directory and how do i create a copy of it on my webserver.

and whenever i try to generate the digest.txt using 

% java -classpath getdown-core-X.Y.jar com.threerings.getdown.tools.Digester myapp

i get :

INFO Found no getdown.txt file .

Im new to getdown and the lack of recourses  isnt helping
