The other day I was training with my teacher and he just said something out of nowhere that struck me as so completely different from the teachings of OYD. We were talking about chi gong/internal exercises and whatnot and he mentioned the person's relationship to the energy in the environment--something OYD attempts to speak much of. While I remember OYD saying that you can absorb the energy of the environment (and I believe this to be true), my teacher was talking about how you, your energy and the environment's energy is just a free flowing state when you are in harmony in your mind and with your practice. In other words, rather than seeing the environment as something to drain from, like a vampire, you gain energy from the outside world and the environment can actually receive energy from YOU.

It just struck me as a completely different attitude from all I've ever experienced from OYD. OYD's entire state of being was "take! take! take!" whereas my real teacher had the attitude of "give to receive". The latter is normal and one of the principles of abundance whereas the former is quite abnormal, unhealthy and sick. Par for the course for OYD. I'm sure that OYD lurkers would agree with what my teacher said and try to think that their school says the same thing but sadly, they do not. I never once heard such a thought from OYD; from their actual "martial arts" practices, to how they conduct business, to their very attitude on life, their way of being is entirely one of selfishness and using literally all others for their own gain.

I understand what you are saying, if you have a chance you may be interested in reading about quantum mechanics, I was amazed at how
similar the teachings of QM were to the teaching of old masters and chi energy. Specificly the transfer of energy through all living things.
Quantum mechanics is a complex subject, but one guy who writes/explains it in simple terms is Fred Alan Wolf - Taking the Quantum Leap.

I found it to be a good compliment to my internal arts training. Explained a lot about positive energy and negitive energy, and why OYD will
never be successful with the mind set and intent they project.

Einstein, Planck Bohm and Bohr some of the greatest Scientific minds all confirm, a lot of what the old masters have been teaching about
oneness, energy, and intentions. Flow of energy, electrons, photons.

Anyway I found it pretty interesting.

Not an easy read, but well worth the effort.
