I've had a friend who is in town staying with me so he can train with
our teacher while he's here. I showed him this clip (actually it was a
clip with just douche bag frank in it) of OYD Bagwaaaa!!! I didn't
tell him anything about the school, I didn't try to set up or lead the
conversation, I just showed him the clip first and said tell me what
you think about their skills.

He said, "oh man this guy really thinks he's something. It comes right
through the computer! He really thinks he could use that stuff".

I mean really, my buddy COMPLETELY nailed it. Right on all accounts.
Pretty different, right? LOLZ

That's the most recent demo that was on the OYD website...I can't watch it now cuz I'm at work, but yeah, they don't know what they are doing, only that you breathe heavy and mooooove "more correct ways", blah blah blah.

Now that I saw that "Bagwa switch" again, it looks horrible, just a bunch of stuff mushed together, par for the course with OYD.  The reason I say that is when I learned circle-walking for the first time from my teacher, what he showed me in 10 minutes FAR OUTWEIGHS anything I learned in OYD over 19 years of training.  Frank (in the video) is breaking fundamental Bagua structure almost everytime he "moo-ves." (during those switches)

Anyway, the movements themselves aren't necessarily bad for you, they just are not real/credible Bagua fundamentals or switches.

Also, the Pal-Gye (or Par-Gye from the old days) looks terrible...from my internal martial arts teacher, we are NEVER told to hunch over and/or arch our backs like that...it's more like a "sin" to do that in Bagua, Tai Chi or Xing Yi.
